The top stables are still in use today and hold out the tack room, stable rug room and lots more storage. This building is made up of two areas which contain remains of early stables built in the early 1840s and was rebuilt in the early 1900s. The first part is the top stables it is of post and rails construction with a corrugated iron roof supported by large tree trunk posts. The stable block could have housed up to 6 horses at one time and over the years was home to many champion racehorses. The second part is around the back of the top stable block and faces our horse walker it was used as pens for calves and pigs. Today you will also find our white yards where we get our horses ready for events and also our scales where our legends undergo their monthly weight check.
